Zrinski beat the Maroons 4-1 and made it 2 wins in a row to kick of the indoor campaign. Zrinski never trailed in this one as they went up 2-0 in the first 10 minutes on a very physical Maroons team. Goals were scored by Dani Martinez & newcomer Dan Simek. The Maroons relentless pressure paid off as they got one back to make it 2-1. Zrinski stayed organized and defended well and caught the Maroons on a counter and defender Chris VanDuerm made it 3-1 as he calmly slotted home his first goal of the year. The Maroons continued to pressure but keeper Marty Ruberry was too much for the Maroons today as he came up with save after save frustrating the Maroons all day. Sean Fahey closed out the game as Ben Babo's dummy found Zrinski's midfielder Sean Fahey who tormented the Maroons all day making it 4-1. Ruberry had help from a solid defense which has played perhaps some of the best defense of the year in the Metro, let be veterans Dan Quinn and Chris Van Duerm along with newcomer Jaro Pylypzcak and young Frane Strmic. Up next for Zrinski is Green and White at 4pm. Metro Scores: Schwaben 2 - Connections 1 Eagles 3 - Green White 2 Zrinski 4 - Maroons 1 Sockers 2- United Serbs 1 Vikings 2 - International 2
